Facebook generally rewards people who help in finding security loopholes in the site. Shreateh, a Palestinian reseacher who hacked into Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg's profile to expose a security flaws, did so after he was repeatedly ignored by the Facebook security team. Post the hacking, he went on and posted the information on Zuckerberg's own profile page saying- "Dear Mark Zuckerberg. First sorry for breaking your privacy and post to your wall, i had no other choice to make after all the reports i sent to Facebook team. My name is KHALIL from Palestine." Shreateh later receieved a message from the social media team saying that they were unfortunate as they could not pay him for this vulnerability because his actions had violated the terms and service. However they added that they hoped he continued the to work with them (Facebook) to find out more vulnerabilities in the site. An official from Facebook said that they received hundreds of reports everyday. They have paid over $1 million to reporters bu some of these reports are nonsense or misguided.
